Spring has finally arrived!

Why is it that when you stop to look at what day it is, it appears time is flying by but when you are in the middle of NOT thinking about it, time seems to drag on and on. Weird.

Nothing, nada, zilch, zero on the job hunting for DH. This is week 12 I believe on Unemployment and I know he is getting discouraged. I fear that once his 30 weeks are up that there will be no extensions due to the fact the president's Stimulus monies are dried up and gone. 30 weeks sounded like such a long time 12 weeks ago!! Nothing really on the horizon. I am willing to move but with the drop in house valuations we owe more on our home of 25 years then we could sell it for right now. That would leave nothing, nada, zilch, zero to put down on a new house. We could rent if need be but who would think, on the verge of celebrating our 30th Anniversary we would be moving backwards instead of forwards.

Somehow I still feel blessed. We have our health. Dh had a health scare recently but everything is good. The C word is no longer part of our issue. Praise God.

Fun things have happened in the past four weeks. I turned 50 and had a wonderful birthday month! My children arranged a surprise dinner for our immediate family, grandson included, at a local restaurant. I was nervous about the bill but my kids picked it up!! Then my SIL sent us to the York Harbor Inn for a weekend to celebrate my birthday. We go to York several times a year but never have we stayed there. It was absolutely beautiful and now we are spoiled. My oldest son gave me a $250 gift card to Mohegan Sun Casino in CT so we will use it for our 30th Anniversary in June!! Trip to Vegas was cancelled with DH was no longer employed.

My DD and her BF bought, closed on and moved into their first home.

Easter was a smaller family gathering this year but still wonderful. DH's Aunt of 91 years joined us and my grandson was a blast.

I've been knitting a lot due to watching the HOCKEY playoffs. Tonight the Canadians play my BRUINS and since it is game 7 we will know who is moving on for the Stanley Cup. My DD got me into the Bruins because her little family is all about the Boston Bruins. Even my grandson has Bruins attire.

I found a sweater pattern from Lion Brand and I am knitting it in Bruins colors for my grandson for his 2nd birthday. Thank you everyone for your tips and suggestions!

My co-worker finally went home from the hospital yesterday after surviving Strep Pneumonia. Same thing that killed Jim Hensen the Muppet Man. Doctors said it was a miracle that she lived.

See......if I look around I find others with problems worse than mine!! I am blessed.

Happy belated birthday! Sounds like things have been pretty good, though, the past month at least. Game 7 -- friends of ours, she is Bruins fan, he's a Canadiens fan, could be interesting in their house tonight, lol. Although I think he's just doing it to annoy her. Hubs is a Calgary Flames fan, they didn't make the playoffs, so he's moved on to baseball, lol.
