A trip to Michael's and Jo-ann's in the same day!

Summer is quickly passing me by and I am well aware that I will not get the things done on my to do list. This morning I was feeling particularly stressed at my lack of time in my day even though I am on Summer break. With DH home 24/7 it really makes a difference. I find myself lazier in the morning, not finishing anything I start in the house, basically I feel like I am treading water. I've been knitting or crocheting dishcloths to use for gifts this fall and Christmas but nothing more than that. I've struggled making needed appointments so things will work out around DH's schedule etc.

I guess this is a sample life of what retirement is going to be like with the exception that I won't have to return to work the end of August and DH won't be so worried about not finding work. It;s not bad really, just different and takes a little getting used to. I am actually thinking that it could be quite nice to have him home all the time now that I am getting used to the changes.

Today I had to take my mom to the dentist so I allowed myself a little shopping trip. She and I used to make these Mall trips every so often and we would shop and eat and shop some more. Well today I shopped but had to keep an eye on her like she is my child (alzheimer's will do that do you). The highlight though was when we hit both Jo-ann's and Michael's. My mom was encouraging to my spending and that was fun! I tried to be good though. I bought several different yarns with gifts in mind all the while telling my mom and myself I shouldn't buy them. She kept saying why not so I figured I had her blessing. Ha ha.....wonder what DH would think about that!

We went to Barnes and Noble and I bought a book to surprise my son. Something I would have done if DH was working. It felt good and was just the boost I needed from my doldrums!

I will leave you with a promise to use the new yarns soon and even perhaps tonight start a project to share with you asap! I am off now to sort blueberries for the freezer that I picked this morning and then I will try to figure out how to get a picture from my cell phone to my blog to show you pics of a bear that came to visit at my mom's last week!!
